David Rosengren

 

David is the Director of Greenslopes Emergency Department and a Senior Staff Emergency Physician at the Royal Brisbane and Royal Women's Hospital. He has recently been appointed Director of the Metropolitan Emergency Department Access Initiative to tackle the problem of ambulance ramping in south east Queensland. Amongst other things he is also Chairman of the Queensland Emergency Medicine Research Foundation and Chair of the Queensland faculty of the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine. He is a Senior Lecturer in Anaesthesiology and Critical Care at the University of Queensland School of Medicine and a Fellow of the Academy of Wilderness Medicine. In his spare time he tries to run an 800 acre cattle and timber property in Northern Rivers NSW.

Dr Rosengren has extensive remote medical experience including working for two years in remote Queensland Hospitals. He has experience in helicopter rescue and has worked as an expedition doctor to the Antarctic, Papua New Guinea, Mt Kilimanjaro and Everest Base Camp. He has completed research into exercise associated hyponatraemia on the Kokoda Track and just recently returned from a trip to one of the harshest environments on earth as the medic for a television documentary into a crystal cave in the northern Mexico desert. He assists one of Australia's leading adventure companies with his expert advice.

 
Sally Ball Princess Alexandra Hospital, Brisbane
 

Sally has been working as a radiographer for eleven years and has spent the last five of those years at the Princess Alexandra Hospital. Over that time she has seen the change of work practice from film/screen radiography, to computed radiography and direct digital radiography. She has recently completed a Master of Health Science (Image Interpretation) through the University of Sydney. Sally takes a special interest in trauma imaging, CT and mammography, which is balanced by a passion for travel in her free time.

 
Sandeep Bhuta Gold Coast Hospital
 

Sandeep Bhuta is a Staff Neuroradiologist at Gold Coast Hospital since 2007 and Associate Professor, Griffith University, School of Medicine, Gold coast.
He was trained in Queensland and Toronto; after finishing FRANZCR went to North America for a 2 year comprehensive Fellowship in Adult and Pediatric Neuroradiology and Head & Neck Imaging at University of Toronto, Canada. He has received numerous research awards at conferences such as the American Academy of Neurology, Chicago in 2007 and RANZCR conference research awards at annual scientific meetings in 2007 and 2009. Sandeep received prestigious ACE Award in Academic and Clinical Excellence by Griffith University in 2010. His major contribution includes establishing Stroke and Multidisciplinary Head and Neck Cancer Services at Gold Coast Hospital. His areas of interest and research are Susceptibility Weighted Imaging, Stroke CT Brain Perfusion, and Advanced Tumor Imaging.

Gillian Long Royal Children's Hospital, Brisbane
 

Dr Gillian Long was born in England and trained in Medicine and Radiology in England and Wales. At the end of her registrar training Gillian completed a Paediatric Radiology Fellowship year in Vancouver at British Columbia’s Children’s Hospital before returning to England to work as a Consultant at the Sheffield Children’s Hospital. In 2001 Dr Long migrated to Australia, and initially worked at the Mater Children’s Hospital in Brisbane for 5 years before moving across the Brisbane river to the Royal Children’s Hospital where she is currently Director of Radiology.

Tom Snow Gold Coast Hospital

 

Tom Snow is an interventional radiologist on the Gold Coast in Queensland. His interests are in endovascular surgery, vascular CT, and the management of haemorrhage by embolisation. He trained in Oxford, Brisbane, and Toronto. He heads up a public department of radiology for Queensland Health, and is part of a private radiology group based at Allamanda Hospital.

Insurance: Registrants are strongly advised to arrange health and travel insurance. Phoenix Conferencing and Conference Link will accept no liability for loss or injury.
 
Early Registration: Up to and including 20th January 2012. Faxed or email registrations are considered a firm booking and payment must follow within 10 days. Registrations received up to seven (7) working days prior to the conference will be acknowledged by a receipt/confirmation letter.
