The theme for RADaim
2012 is cross-sectional imaging with a special focus on CT. The
3-day program features a number of individual courses, including
introductory and advanced cardiac CT courses, CT and MR
essentials, informatics and workshop-intensive MSK, vascular and
ob/gyn ultrasound. |
| |
|
For the one registration price you can attend any of the
lectures on offer (ultrasound workshops will be a small
additional fee). Numbers must be capped for some parts
of the conference program so register early to avoid missing
out. |
| |
| |
|
|
|
Plenary sessions: These
sessions will run throughout the conference and feature topical
and practical lectures in CT, MR and Ultrasound delivered by
international and national experts. Presentations will provide
in-depth discussions of core and high-end imaging
techniques that will suit those with intermediate to advanced
knowledge. |
| |
| |
|
Informatics: The Informatics
program wil explore both the technical and organisational issues
involved in PACS and digital imaging. The technical
presentations are driven by the standards - DICOM, HL7 and
Integrating the Healthcare Environment (IHE). The organisational
issues address areas such as budgeting, procurement, vendor
management and PACS administration and education. The program
will appeal to all persons interested in PACS regardless of
their existing technical knowledge. |
| |
| |
|
 |
This 3-day course is designed for
those wishing to develop or consolidate knowledge in CT imaging principles. The course will cover physical principles
such as hardware, data acquisition, image processing and
radiation dose and clinical issues such as contrast safety,
anatomy, imaging protocols and pathology.
|
| |
| |
|

|
This course will reiterate the rudimentary principles of MR. The
course will reinforce the participants' knowledge of key anatomy
and pathology in areas such as neuro, MSK, head & neck and
cardiac/vascular MRI. MR safety and CEMRA will also be
discussed. |
| |
| |
|
 |
This course is designed for those with limited experience in
cardiac CT imaging. It will focus on basic principles of cardiac
anatomy and physiology, ECG interpretation, patient preparation,
scan acquisition and post-processing. |
| |
| |
|
 |
The advanced cardiac
CT course continues from the introductory course with a
steady progression to more advanced imaging techniques and
concepts. |
| |
| |
|

|
The focus of this program is small
workshops with essential techniques demonstrated on the latest
machinery. Topics include hip & groin, knee, shoulder, abdomen,
chest, face & neck and vascular ultrasound. Hands-on training
will be available for all participants. Each workshop is 1½
hours duration and provides 4.5 RANZCR CME points (1.5 ASAR or
AIR CPD points). |

Cynthia
H. McCollough
Professor of Radiologic
Physics and Biomedical Engineering, Director multi-disciplinary
CT, Clinical Innovation Center, Mayo Clinic
Dr. McCollough's research includes state of the
art multi-slice CT imaging of the heart, perfusion imaging of
the heart, brain and abdominal organs, measurement of aortic
distensibility, isotropic resolution imaging of sub-mm
structures in the inner ear, and renal stone composition
analysis. Dr. McCollough is active in numerous national and
international organizations in the areas of CT imaging and
radiation dose assessment and reduction. She is additionally
focused on the implementation of automated exposure control
systems for CT tailored to individual patients. |
